At Selfhelp, we’re planning for tomorrow’s senior housing needs today.

From our earliest days of assisting new émigrés in their search for housing to the opening of our first senior apartment building in 1964, Selfhelp has been synonymous with secure, affordable environments for elderly New Yorkers. Currently, over 1,000 low and moderate-income seniors enjoy independent living, support services and community activities in our six owned and operated award-winning residences.

As baby boomers age and seniors overall live longer, the demand for affordable, functional, well-designed, and aesthetically pleasing housing is growing. As experts in planning and implementing senior housing, Selfhelp is poised to respond.

We are actively seeking properties suitable for rehabilitation, adaptive re-use and new construction where we can develop 21st century residences designed exclusively for older occupants. All the accommodations and services that make our current campuses outstanding and sought-after will be incorporated in our new state-of-the art buildings.
