Essential services go hand-in-hand with enriching social opportunities.
Selfhelp operates six senior centers in Queens that offer Selfhelp housing tenants and more than 6,000 seniors living nearby a wide variety of educational and social activities. We take particular pride in creating programs and services that reflect the local community.
Our compassionate and knowledgeable social workers can help you with short-term counseling and referrals to community resources, advise you on quality of life and entitlement services, and assist you with applications for benefits. Exercise and health related classes, bi-monthly blood pressure screenings, vision and auditory health screenings, annual flu and pneumonia shots are available to all. Your complete well being is important to us.

Volunteer opportunities at our senior centers provide you with a greater sense of community. You may escort other seniors on shopping trips, visit or talk on the phone with those who are lonely or housebound, work in our office, plan and lead recreation activities or get involved in fundraising projects.
