Licensed Home Care Services Agencies (LHCSA) Selfhelp’s LHCSA offers a full range of home health care services from nursing and home health aides to escorts and transportation to doctor’s appointments. Selfhelp’s LHCSA does not accept private insurance directly, but clients may find that their insurance companies will reimburse them for services rendered after they have been paid. To receive services from our LHCSA, a medical diagnosis and physician’s orders are required, except for companions, homemaking and housekeeping.

Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) LPNs have completed one or two years training at a school of nursing or vocational training school and are licensed by the state in which they work. They take charge in the absence of a Registered Nurse, dispensing medications and performing certain treatments.

Living Trust – A trust created to hold an individual’s assets during his/her lifetime, so that those assets will be removed from probate when the individual dies. Whether they are revocable trusts or irrevocable trusts, avoiding probate means the assets of the living trust can be distributed significantly faster than the assets enumerated in a will.

Living Will A legal document that specifies a person’s wishes with regard to what life-prolonging medical measures may or may not be taken if he or she becomes terminally ill or incapacitated.
