Selfhelp Community Services has meant so much to so many people for over 70 years, that it’s hard to imagine what it would be like if we weren't here. By remembering Selfhelp in your will or trust, you can reach beyond your own lifetime and create a legacy of support for future generations.

Through your will, you can make a gift to Selfhelp Community Services with no impact to your finances during your lifetime. A bequest can help to minimize the estate taxes payable after your death. You can make a bequest of a specific cash amount or a percentage of your estate.

Should you choose to include Selfhelp in your will, the following wording may be helpful:

“I give, devise and bequeath the sum of $ _______ (or portion or residue of my estate) to Selfhelp Community Services, Inc. a not-for-profit corporation of the State of New York, now having its principal place of business at 520 Eighth Avenue, New York, NY 10018.”

Please note that while Selfhelp Community Services will provide whatever assistance we can, we cannot provide legal or professional advice. It is advisable to consult with your attorney or estate planner to ensure that your will is legally valid.

If you do decide to remember Selfhelp Community Services in your estate plan, we would appreciate notification by you or your attorney. Selfhelp’s Development Department may be reached at,
(212) 971-7764.

Remembering Selfhelp in your estate plan will ensure that Selfhelp will always be there, ready to help those who need it most. We thank you for considering making such a gift.
