My mother is somewhat forgetful. Would this be a safe environment for her?

Yes. Selfhelp has an array of services that we can bring into her apartment to help her with all her needs. The on-site social worker will be delighted to help you all in planning.

What are your building features?

Each Selfhelp building has:

  • TV surveillance for entry from individual apartments
  • Handicapped adaptable campus with beautifully maintained and accessible gardens
  • Emergency pull cords in the apartments
  • Spacious community rooms and lobbies in which to socialize
  • Religious services in the Martin Lande House

What happens if my income changes while I am living there?

Income eligibility is determined during the application process. If there are changes to income the on-site social worker will help you evaluate and subsidies for which you might be eligible. Some of the buildings have an annual income certification at which time changes will be discussed.

Do you have waiting lists? How long are they?

Yes. Each building has its own waiting list, which varies from one to eight years.

Are there special income requirements?

Some of our buildings provide low to mid income housing, some are market rate. Click here to see a complete chart of housing requirements eligibility per building. To view the requirements you will need Acrobat Reader, which you can download here (it s free).
