Despite advancements made in the treatment and prevention of HIV/AIDS, current statistics reported by the Center for Disease Control indicate that in recent years, the overall rate of infection has been rising. New York City continues to be the epicenter of the epidemic in the U.S., with more than 83,249 people living with AIDS/HIV. AIDS Walk New York funds vital programs at GMHC, such as the Hotline, Women and Family Services, the Meals Program, Legal Services and Client Advocacy, among many others. In the wake of rising infection rates, GMHC faces an increased need for services. GMHC and the other AIDS service organizations rely on the funds we raise through this event to help them continue to meet the needs of families affected by HIV/AIDS. Change the Course of the Epidemic. Register today and walk with our team on Sunday, May 15th! |
