![]() Selfhelp’s first apartment building, built in 1964 in Flushing, Queens,
was one of the first projects awarded funds under the New York State
Mitchell-Lama Program. Today, Selfhelp owns and operates six award-winning
apartment buildings housing over 1,000 residents. There are three
campus settings: the Flushing West Campus with two apartment buildings
and the Weinberg Campus in Flushing with three apartment buildings
anchored by the Benjamin Rosenthal Senior Center; and the Bayside
Campus with one apartment building anchored by the Clearview Senior
Center (including the SHARP Program).
Many of our residents are older immigrants from
a wide range of backgrounds: Asian, Russian, Hispanic, and European.
Buildings have varying home
care, recreational, social service and rent subsidy programs. |
