For those seeking services

Through a range of community and home based services, Selfhelp has over 80 years of experience caring for older adults and other vulnerable populations around the New York metropolitan area.

Our mission is to help aging New Yorkers live independently with dignity in their own homes. We provide our clients with the right set of services so they can avoid institutional care. Our origins date back to 1936, just before the Holocaust, when Selfhelp was founded to assist refugees fleeing Nazi Germany. We are the largest organization in North America providing comprehensive services for Holocaust survivors. Over the decades we have greatly expanded and today we provide care to 20,000 New Yorkers of all backgrounds.
